For this project i am going to use five different artists which i feel relate to my most most out of all the artists i have looked at over this project. I think that many artists which i have looked at over this project have an impact on my work and my final ideas. My first final one is Linder Sterling as she has had a massive impact in my work. Linder Sterling was born 1954 in Liverpool, England. Now working in Heysham, mostly know for her collages which she works closely on the idea of critical socio-cultural issues and feminism. She makes her confrontational collages from woman’s fashion and domestic magazines and pornographic cutouts. Linder Sterling’s most well known piece of work is the iconic cover for the 1977 single ‘Orgasm Addict’ by the Buzzcocks. I really like the way she presents her work, using photos and then adding bits of magazines to them to make them different and stand out to everyone else’s work, which is why she is well known, as soon as i see her work i know its her’s. I think that her work links to my because i have taking a portrait of a face then adding personal objects to their face and around it. Even though i’m not using magazine cutouts i am taking all the photos myself of the objects so that it is all my work. Below is some samples of her work, i have also included the single cover for you to see.
I have looked at many collage artists and her’s really stood out to me as it’s so different which is one of the main reasons i like it. I am recently been working more on my project. I have been taking photos of my models and then objects of things that they like so i could add them into my work. I added the images to my models faces by using Photoshop.
